An ESP Approach to Teaching Nursing Note Writing to University Nursing Students

For nursing students in the vocational education system Taiwan, English-language writing skills, whether for general or specific purposes, have long been ignored, which may jeopardize their success medical-oriented courses and future careers. This study designed a note-writing course (NNWC) university explored teaching outcomes of its implementation. The three main objectives were to (a) examine effectiveness NNWC enhancing learners’ competencies; (b) survey satisfaction with NNWC, (c) investigate perceptions NNWC. In this action research, 49 practiced five tasks while guided tools, namely an online platform, multiple revisions, peer-review activities, direct indirect teacher feedback, semester. External examiners included language professional, data-collection instruments used competence scale questionnaire. results showed that significantly improved after They also demonstrated fair level toward A total 90% learners preferred compared traditional handwriting. indicated preference feedback from rather than peers, they perceived vocabulary capability be crucial.
